Large European food delivery service buys 10% of Shefmarket shares

HelloFresh, a large German food delivery service for prescription meals, has become the owner of a 10% stake in its Russian counterpart, Shefmarket.

As RBC writes, HelloFresh confirmed the information about the deal, but did not disclose the amount of the contract. It is known that the amount involves several million euros. The raised funds will be spent on the expansion of production and launch of new products.

HelloFresh was founded in 2011. The company is among the largest suppliers of food in the U.S., also working in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Sweden, UK, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

The "Shefmarket" service started in 2012 and now carries out delivery in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and the regions adjacent to the megacities.

The companies work on a similar model: they deliver products from which the consumer can prepare the chosen dish using the recipe provided.
