Residential complexes consolidation will be built in Moscow on the territory of former industrial zone "Berezhkovskaya Embankment" with investments more than 150 billion rubles. This zone will become the fourth in Moscow, reorganized at the initiative of the right holder within the project "Industrial quarters", said Vladimir Yefimov, the Deputy Mayor of the capital.

"The decision on the integrated development of the former industrial zone "Berezhkovskaya Embankment" was published in July this year. <...> The owner intends to reorganize more than 26 hectares of the abandoned industrial zone. It is planned that total investment in the project will exceed 150 billion rubles, and the expected budgetary effect will be 4.3 billion rubles a year", - said the Deputy Mayor.

He added that in addition, the investor plans to hold an international competition for architectural design of this area with the participation of Russian and Western design offices.

Total building area will exceed 660 thousands square meters, noted the Head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Alexander Prokhorov.

"On former industrial zone territory in Dorogomilovo area the investor will build more than 330 thousand square meters of housing for 4,6 thousand people. The same amount in new quarter will be occupied by non-residential buildings: high-tech productions, offices, retail facilities and social infrastructure. The realization of the project will allow the city to get 12,5 thousand workplaces", - head of the department noticed.

Now the owner of the object, "Liral Plastic Industry", being a part of Vesper development group, is working out a master plan of the territory. Specialists will plan the space of the future industrial quarter, taking into account the strategy of social and economic development, in the preparation of which international experts are involved.

In particular, specialists from England and Italy are working on the concept of development of the former industrial zone areas, said Boris Azarenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vesper.

"By the end of the year a socio-cultural design program will be prepared taking into account the site urban development potential and scenarios of behavioral experience of the block residents, which will allow to create a comfortable environment, organically integrated into the urban development", - he said.

The "Industrial quarters" project (integrated territorial development) enables to draw unused, actually abandoned urban areas in Moscow into circulation. Earlier four such contracts were concluded. These are integrated development projects for three territories - the industrial zones "Oktyabrskoye Pole", "Kuntsevo" and the industrial zone "Korovino".
