Wildberries invests ₽30bn to build two warehouses

Russian online retailer Wildberries will start building new large regional logistics centers in 2021-2022. The total investment in the projects will exceed RUB 30 billion.

Wildberries founder and CEO Tatiana Bakalchuk signed the relevant documents with the governors of Tula and Samara regions.

The company's press-service told that the largest Wildberries distribution center in Central Russia will be opened on the territory of advanced socio-economic development "Aleksin" in Tula region.

The construction will start in the fourth quarter of this year, the first phase will be launched next year. The total area of the center will amount to 300 thousand square meters. Wildberries is going to invest over 22 billion rubles in the construction. The opening of the center will create about 15 thousand jobs.

The second logistics hub will be erected in 2022 in the Samara Oblast. Its area will be 100 thousand square meters, and investments will amount to eight billion rubles.

"The new distribution hubs will help reduce the logistics costs of local producers and - through Wildberries - enter new markets and find new customers not only in Russia, but also in 13 other countries of our presence," the company's press service specified.
