The second phase of a large dairy complex Vakinskoye Agro has opened in the Ryazan region, the Ministry of Agriculture said.

The ceremony was attended by Ryazan Region Governor Nikolay Lyubimov, member of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Igor Morozov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Ryazan Region Dmitry Filippov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Boris Shemyakin, General Director of LLC Vakinskoye Agro Sergey Turta, representatives of Rosselkhozbank.

"The new cattle-breeding complex is designed for 2.3 thousand heads, it is the second phase of a large-scale investment project, which was launched in the region at the end of 2013. Then the largest robotic farm in Europe started working in the Ryazan region," the ministry said.

The new complex includes a milking and dairy unit, maternity and drying rooms, cows and calves, a complex of silage trenches, a veterinary unit, other necessary premises and communications.

It is specified that the total investment volume amounted to 1.52 billion rubles. The new farm is expected to produce 19.6 thousand tons of milk per year. The project has created 57 jobs.

According to Ryazan Region Governor Nikolai Lyubimov, Vakinskoe Agro will soon reach a milk yield of 56 thousand tons per year.

"This is a very serious figure for our region, for the whole of average Russia," he stressed.

Today the enterprise is already among the three regional leaders in terms of gross milk yield. The head of the region pointed out the organization of a closed production cycle, when the facility processes raw milk at its own plant.

"It is very important that here milk is processed on site, i.e. milk is made into ready products, which are then sold in shops throughout Russia. I would like all our milk producers to follow this strategy. Then all the added value stays here, on Ryazan land," said Lyubimov.

He noted that in 7 years milk production in the Ryazan region has increased by 1.5 times.
