The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia (Ministry of Economic Development) and the Ministry of Trade of Cambodia at the meeting of the Russian-Cambodian working group adopted a list of investment projects with a period of implementation up to 2025.

"The event allowed for an open exchange of views between Russian business interested in entering the markets of Southeast Asia and representatives of the public and private sectors of the Kingdom, to discuss the practicalities of implementing the projects proposed for discussion, based on the current investment laws of Cambodia, and the potential difficulties," - said in the Ministry of Economic Development.

Five Russian companies presented their projects to potential Cambodian partners during the meeting. For instance, KAMAZ presented a project to set up trucks assembly in Cambodia; Orenburg Minerals presented a project to set up construction material production from chrysotile asbestos; Insiprom proposed installation of Russian-made incinerators to process industrial and medical waste; Karboil offered to produce insulating rice husk mixture; and Eltex offered to use its telecommunications equipment for building communication networks.

The event was attended by over 80 representatives of Russian and Cambodian companies and organizations, including the heads of some industry ministries of the Kingdom.

"We aim to open a new chapter in trade and investment cooperation with Cambodia and expect to use the Working Group format as a platform for investors from Russia and Cambodia willing to discuss specific projects openly and substantively with the assistance of the Ministry", - said Natalia Stapran, Director of the Department for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.
