Reshetnikov told how Russia will increase exports

Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said that the volume of exports from Russia will be increased at the expense of the national project and measures of tariff and non-tariff regulation.

"We will increase it (exports - note) through the development and implementation of the national project, fine-tuning the work of intergovernmental commissions and trade missions, tariff and non-tariff regulation measures," he said, speaking at the government hour in the Federation Council.

The Minister added that, according to the department's estimations, the inertial growth rate (if no additional efforts are undertaken) would be slightly more than 2% annually until 2030.

Also Reshetnikov pointed out that the climate agenda in the next 10 years will be the main challenge and influence on the structure of exports.

"For us, the subject of particular concern and the initiative of a number of countries is to introduce so-called cross-border corrective mechanisms, sometimes called carbon taxes, which could jeopardize a significant part of our exports. Our answer to all of these challenges is our proactive, proprietary climate agenda," said the head of the Ministry.
