International payment system Mastercard in 2022 will introduce a special tariff for small businesses - interchange 1% when accepting payments using a smartphone, Kommersant learnt.

Such changes are aimed at supporting microbusinesses, among others, for which the technology of accepting one-touch payment to a smartphone by card or other payment device was created, the payment operator explained.

Experts note that now for small and microenterprises the tariff load on acquiring contracts is quite high. Delobank (a division of SKB-Bank) claims that more than 80% of surveyed entrepreneurs are interested in acquiring on their smartphones.

Now in Russia similar solutions are already being implemented with even lower fees, which may compete with Mastercard, experts say. For example, Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-bank, SKB-bank promote their own solutions for the use of smartphones as terminals, and it is not only card payments, but also QR-code payment through the System of fast payments (SBP). At the same time, SBP commissions are not higher than 0.7%; in addition, small businesses are reimbursed for commission costs.
