Deliveries to Russia from Uzbekistan under "Agroexpress" project will start in November

The first pilot shipments of products from Uzbekistan to Russia in the framework of the project "Agroexpress" will begin in November, and on a permanent basis they will be conducted from December, the Ministry of Economic Development said.

Recall, the project "Agroexpress" provides regular and rapid delivery of agricultural products in refrigerated train on the route Tashkent - Moscow.

"Now the preparation of the project is at the final stage. We have worked out procedures for the most seamless and fastest passage of goods, as well as special tariff conditions for rail transport. We expect that the first pilot delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables from Uzbekistan will take place in November this year, and on a regular basis "Agroexpress" will start in December," - said the Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with Uzbek Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov.

The ministry expects that in the future it will help provide the domestic market with quality products, especially during the off-season, and "contribute to food security and price stabilisation. Furthermore, Russia will use these same railroad trains to export its agricultural products to Uzbekistan.
