The cross-year of Russian and Italian museums will open in Milan on September 29

The cross-year of museums of Russia and Italy in Milan will open on September 29 with an exhibition dedicated to Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the Ministry of Culture said.

"On September 30 in Milan with the participation of Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova and Minister of Culture of Italy Dario Franceschini will take place the opening ceremony of the "Cross" Year of Museums in Russia-Italy in the format of a "museum summit". Leaders of leading local and Italian museums will take part in it and discuss topical issues of museums", - told the ministry.

On the eve of the opening ceremony in Milan on September 29 in the Museum "Casa Manzoni" there will be held the exhibition "Russia and Europe in the fate and works of Dostoevsky" dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the writer. The exhibition will feature personal belongings of the author, original photographs, rare books signed by the writer from the collection of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature. Dahl State Museum of the History of Russian Literature. The exhibition will be open for visitors from September 30 to October 31. The entrance to the exhibition is possible with the European passport.

In addition, Milan Auditorium will host a classical music concert performed by the winners of the International Tchaikovsky Competition. The event will be supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture.

In 2021-2022 Russia and Italy hold the cross Year of Museums: the Russian and Italian cultural institutions will host numerous events dedicated to the art of the two countries.
