Demand for tours abroad increased among Russian tourists

Tour operators have announced increased demand for foreign trips. According to their data in the second half of September Russians interest in traveling to other countries has increased by 25-40% compared to the same time last year, writes "Kommersant" referring to a representative of the National Travel Agencies Network Igor Blinov. At the same time market participants have recorded a decrease in interest to domestic resorts.

The leaders in sales of foreign destinations were Turkey and Egypt, which accounted for 57% and 17% of reservations respectively.

Analysts at Level.Travel reported that the Egyptian destinations accounted for 10% of sales, with the average booking check more than 127 thousand rubles, while the Turkish destinations accounted for 60% (with the cost over 112 thousand rubles).

A surge in bookings was recorded during the upcoming school holidays. For example, a representative of the tour operator Intourist Darya Domostroeva pointed out the difficulty to find affordable accommodation in popular hotels in October and November.

Along with this, market players said about the significant reduction in demand for Russian destinations. They explain this situation by the summer floods in the Krasnodar region and restrictions on the arrival of tourists without vaccination. However, the popularity of domestic resorts has also declined because of the cold weather.
