The area of winter crops in Udmurtia increased by 31.3%

The total sown area of winter crops in Udmurtia has increased by 31.3% for the year. This was reported by the press-service of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

It is noted that the winter crops have been sown for the next harvest on the territory of 71.2 thousand hectares against the planned 59.3 thousand hectares. These figures are much higher than last year - in the previous season autumn sowing was carried out only on 91%. Under the planned 59.4 thousand hectares have been sown only 54.2 thousand hectares.

The Administration informed that the most significant areas of winter crops have been sown in the Sarapulsky District - 8.2 thousand hectares, in the Mozhinsky District - 5.9 thousand hectares and in the Vavozhsky District - 5.1 thousand hectares.

Winter rye covered 55.9 thousand hectares, winter wheat 14.9 thousand hectares, winter rape 2.9 thousand hectares and triticale 350 hectares.
