More than 2.5 tons of sturgeon seized from poachers in the Moscow region
More than 2.5 tonnes of poached sturgeon were seized in the Moscow Region. According to the public relations center of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, the amount of damage to aquatic biological resources exceeded 120 million rubles.
According to TASS, the border service of the Federal Security Service prevented a channel for supplying especially valuable species of aquatic biological resources, listed in the Red Book of Russia, to the Moscow region.
"More than 2.5 tons of Russian sturgeon, illegally caught in the Caspian Sea, was withdrawn in specially equipped caches of the truck, as well as in a storage room in Moscow", - the report says.
Officers also withdrew several dozen kilograms of sturgeon caviar.
At the moment, all circumstances and persons involved are being investigated. An investigation into the case has been initiated.
