Moscow region has increased egg production by 5.2% since the beginning of the year

Egg production in the Moscow region has increased by 5.2% in the first eight months of this year, said Sergey Voskresensky, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region.

"According to the results of the livestock industry of the Moscow region in the first eight months of this year, egg production has exceeded 2020 by 4.7 million eggs, i.e. increased by 5.2%. Gross production totalled 94.6 million eggs," he specified.

The region produces hen, quail and guinea fowl eggs.

Voskresensky said that agricultural enterprises produced over 62 million eggs, which is 12.5% or 6.9 million eggs more than last year. Agricultural enterprises, according to his data, account for over 65% of the total production of eggs in the region.

The largest egg producers in the region include poultry farms Elinar-Broiler, Mayskiye Prostory and Shepilovskaya Poultry Farm.
