Exports of agricultural products from the Kemerovo Region increased by 16%

Kemerovo Region has increased export of agricultural products by 16%, to $195.6 million, in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to the website of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, citing the Federal Customs Service.

"From Kuzbass in the framework of the national project "International cooperation and export" in the eight months of 2021 exported agro-industrial products worth 195.6 million dollars. By comparison, in the first eight months of last year the figure was $167.6 million," the report says.

According to the Governor of the region, the Kemerovo region today exports products to 41 countries. The main importers are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and China. However, Kuzbass also supplies its products to the UK, USA, Norway, Serbia and Germany.

The main share of foreign supplies is accounted for confectionery and chocolate products. The region is one of the leaders amongst the Russian regions in the export of flour confectionery products. Kemerovo alcohol, nuts, ice cream, grains and oilseeds are also in demand abroad.
