The first technology and microfabrication centre opened in Russia
Russia's first technology and microfabrication center was opened at the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA).
As Veronika Skvortsova, the head of FMBA, noted at the opening ceremony, the center is equipped with the latest technologies. According to her, it is a unique site where biologists, doctors and representatives of fundamental medicine work together with designers and engineers. Such collective work, according to Skvortsova, makes it possible to approach the problem of a complete innovation chain and its acceleration in the development of unique and innovative diagnostic devices.
A set of technological processes for creating microfluidic chips and devices for in vitro diagnostics (in vitro experiments) has been assembled at the centre's premises.
Employees of the center will be able to minimize the time between an idea and an experiment, a design model and a prototype, and also between a working model and a small commercial product.
