Stavropol horse breeders export purebred horses to Mongolia for the first time

The Stavropol Territory's Terek Stud No. 169 has exported a large batch of 21 purebred breeding horses to Mongolia for the first time. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Alexei Krisan informed about it.

"Horses born in the Stavropol Territory breeding stud farms are widely used in breeding organizations in Russia and in a number of countries near and far abroad. All breeding stock is passported and registered in state studbooks taking into account their breed origin," - press service of the department reports.

It should be noted that 150 elite horses were sold by breeding studs of the region since the beginning of 2021, 19 of them - for export. Arabian thoroughbred horses were in demand in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Romania, and Akhalteke horses - in Poland, the department said.

There are 1,093 breeding horses in the region. Equestrian breeders receive support under the regional program "Development of Agriculture".
