The exhibition "Dreams of Freedom. Romanticism in Russia and Germany" will open on the second of October in Dresden. The Albertinum Museum organized it together with the Tretyakov Gallery, said the press service of the Tretyakov Gallery.

The Russian museum noted that the exhibition will consist of more than 140 paintings, "Izvestia" writes.

"The largest Russian museums, which include the State Hermitage Museum, the Russian Museum and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in addition to the Tretyakov Gallery, have provided a total of 70 paintings," explained the press service and added that their paintings for the exhibition also provided other German museums - the Berlin National Gallery, Kunsthalle Hamburg and the Novalis Museum in Oberwiederstedt.

The exhibition combines masterpieces of European and Russian art of the 19th century. It includes paintings by Caspar David Friedrich, Alexei Venetsianov, Ivan Aivazovsky and Alexander Ivanov. The exhibition was previously shown at the Krymsky Val in Moscow and has become one of the leading exhibition projects of the year.
