Lenfilm film studio has paid off all debts. According to Fyodor Bondarchuk, Chairman of Lenfilm's Board of Directors, the company's development strategy up to 2025 has been approved.

"The studio's debts are closed, the non-core asset has been sold, VTB returns the money, it's all happening right now, in a matter of days. We have a new Board of Directors that was reinforced with representatives of new sites, such as the Internet Development Institute <...> Generally speaking, today is a big celebration for me because we have been coming to this point for many years. Now I can say that all the problems with" Lenfilm "are closed, "- he was quoted as saying by TASS.

Bondarchuk also said that the development program "Lenfilm" is approved until 2025 and the "golden collection" returns to the studio. In addition, the studio will be organized by the new site "Debut".

Recall that in 2013, Lenfilm signed a loan agreement with VTB in the amount of 1.53 billion rubles. In July 2020, the former interim CEO of the film studio Inessa Yurchenko has specified that the main debt to the bank amounts to 1.5 billion rubles, and about 700 million rubles on interest. Among other debts the studio called the arrears in taxes, before the State Film Fund, utilities charges.
