At the Russia pavilion at the largest international exhibition Dubai EXPO 2020, air purifiers were installed by Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET), which is part of Rostec State Corporation. According to the press service of the corporation, they are equipped with air purification and disinfection systems TIOCRAFT M1000 and are able to protect the air from viruses and bacteria, ensuring the safety of visitors.

The air purifiers are manufactured at Ramensky Instrument Manufacturing Plant, which is a part of KRET. They use a unique technology that has no analogues not only in Russia but also abroad: the devices work on the basis of photocatalytic filters, which construction is made of sintered glass spheres with titanium dioxide sputtering.

According to the research results, the air purifiers TIOCRAFT effectiveness in the struggle against bacteria, volatile organic compounds and viruses is 99.9%. During the device tests, air pollution was reduced 4.6 times, Rostec noted.

Moreover, according to the developers, the device is capable to destroy COVID-19 virus: the minimum size of the particles that TIOCRAFT neutralizes is 30 nanometers, the size of the virion of SARS-CoV-2 virus is 50 to 200 nanometers.

The international exhibition opened in Dubai on October 1. It will last six months until March 31, 2022. The theme of Russia's participation in Expo 2020 is "Creative Mind: Defining the Future". The Russian pavilion will feature such regions as Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Tatarstan, and Komi.
