Russian companies have increased production of ice cream by 8% in the first six months of this year, according to the website of Soyuzmoloko.

"The production of ice cream at the end of last year increased by 8%, and in the first half of 2021 - another 8%. Experts attribute high seasonal growth to the opening of restaurants and cafes after the lockdown, the active development of domestic tourism with closed borders, as well as the hot summer, which had a significant impact on consumption and, consequently, on production volumes," - says the report.

At the same time, Streda Consulting said that the market has seen a recovery from last year's dip of 9.5 percent, as compared to 2019 volumes, growth was only half a percent.
