Russian-made EpiVacCorona coronavirus vaccine will be exported to Venezuela, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said during an intergovernmental commission of the two countries.

This South American country has become the first foreign country where this vaccine will be supplied.

"Venezuela has become the first foreign country with which an agreement has been signed to supply EpiVacCorona," Borisov said.

He added that the parties are looking forward to the practical implementation of this project in the near future.

Regulatory authorities in Venezuela, according to Deputy Prime Minister, have already registered the domestic product. He also recalled that Russia has already been supplying to Venezuela Sputnik V. Since the end of last year the Russian Federation has sent to Venezuela 3.86 million doses of this vaccine and about 600 thousand packs of the anticoviral drug Avifavir.
