Moscow-based microelectronics manufacturer Mikron (resident of Technopolis Moscow) has developed a solution for authenticating works of art in the Artreestr system.

The artwork placed in the registry is tagged with an NFC radio frequency tag with information about the object (author name, date of registration, information about the owner, and more) at the artist's request. To check the authenticity of the work one will need only a smartphone with NFC module, told the press service of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

"Radio-frequency tags for authentication of art objects are resistant to aggressive environment, work in a wide range of temperatures and humidity, are applied to various surfaces, including wood, canvas, paper, plastic and others," said Gennady Degtev, general director of Technopolis "Moscow", adding that reading is possible in any light.
