Putin supported the introduction of a non-working day regime in November

Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the introduction of a non-working day regime from October 30 to November 7 due to the difficult situation with the coronavirus infection.

"Now it is particularly important to bring down the peak of the new wave of the epidemic. In this regard, taking into account the current situation, I certainly support your proposal, distinguished colleagues, to declare all the country as non-working days with pay for employees in the period from October 30 to November 7 inclusive," he said at a meeting with government members today.

At the same time, he noted that the regions, if necessary, may declare a period of non-working days earlier, as well as to extend this regime after November 7, as the epidemiological situation develops and develops differently in each subject. "Heads of regions have the right to establish additional measures, in this case to set non-working days, without waiting until October 30, that is, to do before the period of non-working days established for the whole country," he said.

It should be reminded that earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova proposed to make Russia a non-working day period from October 30 to November 7 due to worsening epidemiological situation.
