The Stavropol Territory is drafting a concept for vegetable farming development. According to Dmitry Frolko, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the region, it will be aimed at increasing the sown areas, the volume of agricultural production and will help to build cooperation between agricultural producers and retail chains.

"On behalf of governor of Stavropol region today we develop the concept of development of vegetable growing in the region, the purpose of which is to increase the area under vegetable growing and, as a result, to increase the volume of vegetable production, technical re-equipment of production facilities, increasing of vegetable and potato storage facilities," - he said.

He also expressed confidence that the concept will improve communication between farmers and trade networks, wholesale and retail markets and other places where produce is sold.

The agency also intends to apply to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture to provide state support to farmers engaged in production of vegetables in greenhouses and potatoes and increase the reimbursement of expenses for construction and modernization of vegetable and potato stores up to 35%.
