"Yandex has introduced a new position - director of sustainability - and appointed Dmitry Ivanov, head of Yandex.Zen, to the position, the company said.

In his new position, Ivanov will coordinate social and environmental initiatives, specifically developing existing projects and looking for new niches to support the ESG agenda.

Yandex managing director Tigran Khudaverdyan said the company has already compiled an ESG agenda to better understand which areas of life Yandex is contributing to and where it can be useful in the future. The director of sustainability will help teams correlate the agenda with specific product plans, the top manager added.

Yandex.Zen will be led by Anton Frolov, who was previously technical director of the platform, instead of Ivanov.

Dmitry Ivanov has worked at Yandex since 2003. In 2015, he took over as head of Yandex.Zen. In the first wave of the pandemic, he became one of the creators of the charitable project "Help is nearby".
