Russia to be an International Partner at EXPO 2017

A memorandum on cooperation in the preparation and organization of the event schedule at EXPO 2017 was signed in the framework of the second meeting of international participants of EXPO 2017, which will take place at the time in Astana (Kazakhstan), before the Commissioner-General of the Russian sector at EXPO 2017, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Georgy Kalamanov.

The document was signed by the first deputy chairman of the Astana EXPO 2017 national company, Alisher Pirmetov and the operator of the Russian section at EXPO 2017, the president of the Government company Formica, Maxim Zverkov.

The status of the international partner business program EXPO 2017 provides for the participation of our country in the development of international conferences, as well as joint events with the Kazakhstan.

The significance of the Russian program at EXPO 2017 is the emphasis on the international energy agenda. Conferences and round table events, organized by the Russian sector, will be attended not only by domestic scientists, businessmen and heads of governments, but also their colleagues from Kazakhstan, Europe, China, Japan, the US and Arab countries.

The EXPO 2017, to be held in Astana under the slogan of "Energy of the Future", which is a very comprehensive large-scale project, the theme of which is energy, regarded as a factor in determining the existence of communities and the daily life the these communities, say event organizers.

EXPO 2017 is expected to host 100 nations and international organizations, including 2-3 million attendees.

The exhibition will be held from June 10 through September 10 of 2017. Participating countries will demonstrate their achievements and perspectives in the new energy source sphere, as well as the benefits, such as environmental friendliness, low operation costs and environmental safety. EXPO 2017 will be a milestone event for Kazakhstan: never before has a CIS or Central Asian country hosted such a large-scale exhibition.

The Republic of Kazakhstan is allotting 283 million Euros from its own budget to the event. The overall costs will reach over 3 billion dollars.
