Vaccination of 1.2 million residents of Belarus with the Russian drug Sputnik V against coronavirus demonstrated efficiency of 93.6%. This was reported by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

An article analyzing the effectiveness of the vaccine "Sputnik V" against coronavirus during the vaccination campaign in Belarus is published on the portal of scientific preprints in the field of medicine MedRxiv.

"The analysis of vaccine efficacy in the article was based on data from more than 1.2 million people who received both components of the drug between January and September 2021 during the vaccination campaign in Belarus," the foundation's press service said.

The vaccine has proved to be highly effective against the Delta strain, which has been prevalent in this country since July.

No deaths related to immunization with the drug have been reported.
