A record increase in self-employed registered in Moscow in October 2021, said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

According to him, last month in the capital 40.1 thousand people were registered as self-employed. The previous maximum was in September - 36.8 thousand people.

"Since the beginning of the year, the number of self-employed in Moscow has increased by 313.6 thousand people and by November 2021 reached 792.8 thousand people. This is 23% of the total number of all registered professional income tax payers in Russia. Every fourth Russian self-employed person works in Moscow. Since the beginning of this year, the self-employed paid 3.69 billion rubles to the Moscow budget, which is 4.1 times more than in January - October last year", - said Efimov.

It is noted that the most popular activities for the self-employed are passenger and cargo transportation, renting apartments, consulting, tutoring, IT services, marketing and accounting services.
