Rosatom enterprises exported the first batch of the isotope molybdenum-100 (Mo-100) to Korea, the press service of the corporation reports. This is the result of the successful cooperation of JSC PO "Electrochemical Plant" (part of Rosatom Fuel Company "TVEL") and JSC "Izotop", the company said.

Izotop, JSC (Moscow) and the Scientific Institute of IBS (Korea) have signed a long-term contract for the supply of the isotope Mo-100 (molybdenum-100) produced by PJSC "Electrochemical Plant" in December 2015.

The volume of the first delivery was 10 kg. Further deliveries of Mo-100 in lots of 30-40 kg will be made in the period from 2017 to 2019.

Isotope Mo-100, which is supplied by the Russian enterprise to Korea, will be used by AMoRE international collaboration in scintillation cryogenic detector for search of neutrine-free double beta decay. Highly enriched isotopes are used to grow the scintillation crystals needed for research work with high-precision detectors.
