"Kamaz has installed auxiliary equipment, the launch of which has reduced the defect - violations of the paint coating of the cab fairing by 70%, the company's press service said.

The company said that the side panel and fairing are installed on the frame of the cab. And they are brought to the position from the subassembly area, which is opposite the conveyor, but even a few meters on the cart could scratch the side. The subassembled components used to be hung on fixture hooks without a rigid fixation, and dents and chips could form when swinging.

To solve this problem, each set of parts could be insulated and placed on a soft pad to keep them from falling out and coming into contact with each other. Participation in the program of workplace ergonomics improvement made it possible to place an order for new auxiliary equipment.

The specialists of Kamaz Energoremont suggested placing each set in a separate cell, and using the handrail on the gas stops as a fixing element to prevent the fairing from falling out. At first one cart for five sets of parts arrived for testing, and after a successful run-in another one was ordered.

"While one special cart is being loaded in the subassembly area, a second with five sets of sidewalls assembled is waiting to be installed on the conveyor. The defect rate has dropped by 70 percent since they were put into operation. In addition, the individual cells save time when removing and installing the sidewalls and fairings," explains master reference crew member Natalia Bader.
