Chemical consortium of Bashkiria and Kazakhstan to attract $1 billion in investment

Bashkiria and Kazakhstan will create a chemical consortium with an estimated investment volume of 1 billion rubles, Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Askar Mamin said.

"I would like to mention one of the projects, which is the most significant example, is the agreement on setting up a joint venture between Kaustik and Bashkirian Soda Company. Within the framework of the joint venture to be set up, projects with a total investment of up to $1 billion will be implemented both in Kazakhstan and in the Republic of Bashkortostan. These projects have very good prospects in terms of sales and exports, and the market is practically open," said Mamin.

According to him, the plant will be the only CIS producer of zirconium oxychloride and will allow to stop exporting raw materials with low added value to China.
