Rosatom bought a part of shares of ilmenite-zircon sands deposit near Tomsk

Rosatom State Corporation, through its subsidiaries, acquired a stake in the mining and processing plant Ilmenit, which develops the Tuganskoye deposit of ilmenite-zircon sands in the Tomsk region. This was reported by the press service of Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ).

It is known that the United Uranium Enterprises (USE), which is a part of ARMZ's management circuit, became a shareholder of Ilmenite and acquired a 25% stake minus one share. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

General Director of UUP Ruslan Dimukhamedov noted that the Tugan deposit of titanium-zirconium sands has a developed infrastructure, logistics, and proven technology. "In addition to the main products - zirconium and titanium concentrates - the company plans to produce a large number of glass and fractionated sands," he said.

The products are expected to go to meet the needs of Russia's high-tech industry.
