The share of employees with wages below the minimum wage in Russia decreased to 2.5%.

The share of employees of large and medium-sized enterprises with wages below the minimum wage (minimum wage) in Russia has decreased since April 2019 by 0.4 percentage points, to 2.5%, the press service of Rosstat told reporters.

Recall that in 2021 the size of the minimum wage is 12,792 rubles.

So, according to the federal service, such a salary in April 2021 received 689.8 thousand people. At the same time in 2019 their number was 775 thousand people.


Of these 2.5% of employees who received wages below the minimum wage, 1.4% were part-time workers, 0.9% - those who received a payment at the level of the minimum wage, and 0.2% - other cases, including possible violations of the law. Rosstat noted that hypothetically, people who are included in the 2.5% could work in several places, but be listed only in one organization and collectively receive more than the minimum wage.

In total, according to the service, in 2021 at large and medium-sized enterprises in Russia worked more than 33 million people. The total number of employees in the country is 75.1 million people, and employed - 71.2 million.
