Moscow manufacturer of clothing and equipment for extreme tourism, mountaineering and polar expeditions BASK has developed an installation that checks the thermal properties of outerwear in cold weather. This was announced by Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow.

He noted that Moscow manufacturers of extra warm clothing and materials for it are upgrading their production facilities and are ready to invest in research and development (R&D). According to him, this allows them to master new technologies, expand the product line, offering the market fabrics, heaters and finished products that successfully compete with foreign products and solve problems of import substitution.

"BASK is one of such companies - it has its own developments in the field of clothing and equipment, patented equipment for the production of insulation, also in its arsenal of successfully implemented project to develop technology for the manufacture of clothing for temperatures below 40 degrees," - explained the head of the department.

Now the "BASK Arktik" unit is already used in the production process of the enterprise, but it was demonstrated to the public only in the framework of the first BASK Business Forum in Technopark "Kalibr". Using it, everyone was able to test the quality of the jackets they wore at the event.

Today the company is engaged in a new development of high-tech tents for mountaineering expeditions and arctic conditions.

At the production they use the computer program developed by the company, which allows to determine the necessary thickness of the product and the amount of down and feather for its making according to the given temperature. Taking into account the thermal properties of different parts of the body, the program helps to distribute the filler on different parts of the jacket and determine a comfortable temperature for wearing, taking into account human activity and energy expenditure in the cold.

The company's products are tested in the mountains and on polar expeditions, at ultra-low temperatures. Test participants are professional athletes, climbers, and polar explorers who fill out evaluation forms for the products under test, which allows us to upgrade and refine the products, taking into account this experience in new developments.
