Rostec's exoskeletons began testing at power facilities
The Rosseti Group received the first batch of industrial exoskeletons for testing at power facilities.
The equipment was manufactured at RT-Trusted Platforms RK (related to Rostec), it is designed to protect the health of employees under heavy physical strain, as well as for working with bulky equipment or in confined spaces.
The exoskeleton does not restrict movement and therefore can be worn over regular work clothes. The equipment allows to reduce the load on the musculoskeletal system by half and reduce the risk of injuries.
The complexes will be used in two branches of Rosseti Lenenergo. Testing will be completed in the first quarter of 2022.
The exoskeletons will be tested in work to ground overhead power lines, when clearing vegetation in cuttings, and when carrying heavy materials and tools.
"When lifting a load in such equipment, a specialist feels only half the weight. Composite materials and parts printed on a 3D printer are used in the exoskeleton design. The samples have already been tested in conditions close to real," said Oleg Yevtushenko, Rostec's executive director.
