Launch of ₽25bn grain processing plant near Saratov pushed back to 2023

"Saratov Biotechnologies" has pushed back the completion date of the wheat grain deep processing plant for 25 billion rubles to 2023, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Saratov region told RIA Novosti.

The agreement between the region and the company on the construction of the plant, which will annually process 250,000 tons of grain, was concluded in 2019. At that time, investments were estimated at 254 million euros, and the project was planned to be implemented in 2019-2021.

"On the territory of Balashovsky district continues the implementation of the investment project of LLC "Saratov Biotechnologies" on the construction of a plant for deep processing of wheat for the production of amino acids with an investment of 25 billion rubles, the creation of more than 510 jobs, the implementation period - 2019-2023," - said in the press service.

This project, as the ministry believes, will solve the problem of import substitution in the Russian market and create in the Saratov region a new direction of processing of plant raw materials, which will produce a unique product for the Russian Federation and CIS countries. These products will be in demand at the enterprises of mixed fodder, food, paint and varnish and chemical industries.

It was previously reported that the product range will include protein feed additives, bioethanol, wheat starch and gluten.
