Aripix Robotics, a developer and manufacturer of industrial robots and manipulators, will develop an automated system for uncoupling railroad cars for Russian Railways, the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow told Made in Russia.

The innovation development project was one of the winners of the accelerator program organized by the passenger company and received a grant of 500 thousand rubles.

"A significant share in the industrial sector of Moscow today is occupied by compact, high-tech companies that are ready to offer products that have no analogues on the market. To make such high-tech developments more accessible, we have created a specialized resource "Technology Bank", where any plant, regardless of its scale and profile of activity, can pick up the best product for itself. Solutions of Aripix Robotics are also presented in the "Bank", - said Alexander Prokhorov, the head of the department.

The company will create a unique gripper, with the help of which the robotic arm Aripix A1 will be able to unhook the cars. The robotic complex will be equipped with machine vision: the camera and the onboard computer with the software. The development will make it possible to fully automate the unhooking process, saving a human from hard and traumatizing work.

Aripix Robotics plans to implement the project within two years. The first stage will include research and development work, and the second stage will include development work: the developers will create prototypes of robots and test them. Further on, the regulations for operation and maintenance of the new equipment will be formed.

The automation of the car unhooking is supposed to pay for itself in 4.5 years.
