Moscow signs first PPP agreement on collection and processing of discarded electronics

The Moscow government and the company "EcoTechProm" signed an agreement on public-private partnership (PPP) in the field of ecology, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Yefimov.

According to the document, the investor will engage in a full cycle of collection and recycling of electronic and electrical equipment.

"The project involves the collection and processing of defective electronic and electrical equipment for its subsequent disposal. In the future, it will allow the city to significantly reduce the cost of disposal of electronic and electrical equipment, and the enterprise to maximize the use of its capacity to develop its production "- said the vice-mayor.

At the beginning of the last year "EcoTechProm" initiated a full cycle of collection and recycling of equipment, including plastic. To do this, the company will reconstruct municipal facilities for collection points and equip them with the necessary equipment. All the equipment sorted here is planned to be sent to "EcoTechProm" and "Ecoplast" factories.

Agreement on PPP has been concluded for 20 years. Under its terms, Moscow will transfer the vacant building sites in Ostapovsky proezd and Altufievsky highway to EcoTechProm, explained Alexander Prokhorov, Head of Moscow Investment and Industrial Policy Department.
