Russian producers of fish and seafood increased exports to Asia, Europe and Africa in 2021. In total, companies have made deliveries to 62 countries, the Agroexport center of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reported.

"The largest buyers are the Republic of Korea, China, the Netherlands, Japan and Belarus. At the same time, the volume of exports to the markets of many European, Asian and African countries has increased significantly," the report said.

Thus, according to the information system of Rosselkhoznadzor "Argus", compared with 2020 increased exports to states that are among the main importers of Russian fish products. Shipments to Japan increased by 93%, to 80.6 thousand tons, to Korea - almost 50%, to 935 thousand tons.

In addition, this year the volume of fish and seafood exports to European countries has increased significantly. Thus, shipments to Norway have grown in 2.5 times, to Germany - in 2.7 times, to Poland - in 2.2 times, to France and Portugal - in 2 times, to the UK - by 42% and to Spain - by 24%. Exports to the Netherlands also remained at a stable high level, where 116 thousand tons were shipped.

As for the African continent, Nigeria became a major buyer of Russian fish products in 2021. The country imported 32.2 thousand tons, which is 1.8 times more than in 2020.

In the CIS countries, imports from Russia increased by almost 90% in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan - almost 60%, Moldova - 24%, Belarus - 21%, Kazakhstan - 18% and Kyrgyzstan - 6%.

It is specified that Rosselkhoznadzor in 2021 carried out extensive work to restore the previous level of fish products supply to China.

"The re-registration of Russian producers and carriers has been carried out. More than 1 thousand Russian companies have already been included into the list approved by China", - the report says.

In addition, one of the achievements of 2021 was getting the right to supply fish to the domestic market of Vietnam, as well as various fish and marine products to Ecuador, Angola, Thailand and Iraq, the center added.
