The Total Dictation Foundation received a presidential grant to hold an educational event with the same name in 2023, the director of the organization Olga Rebkovets said on Facebook.

"Received a presidential grant for the dictation of 2023. <...> Means that TD-2022 ("Total Dictation" - 2022 - ed.) do in a severe shortage of resources and forces, we still have a budget deficit of more than 5 million rubles (with minimal expenses and minimal team), but we will definitely hold the action, "- she wrote on her page on the social network.

She added that now more than half of the necessary expenses for the action 2023 - secured. The foundation is hoping for partner support, crowdfunding and other grants.

"Total Dictation" is an educational event organized to promote literacy. Everyone who wants to test their knowledge of their native language can take part in it. The action has been held since 2004, but in recent years the organizers have faced financial difficulties: the dictation was partially financed by the Presidential Grants Fund, but in 2022 the fund was denied funding. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice also initiated an audit of the fund.
