The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) suggested that marketplaces come up with an assessment of the effectiveness of parallel imports and submit these data to the government in the fall, writes Forbes based on the meeting of the department with online retailers.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex.Market, AliExpress Russia and SberMegaMarket marketplaces.

It is the marketplaces that are the platforms through which "there is a large flow of consumer goods," so they can give statistics on parallel imports, according to the FAS.

In order for parallel imports not to be associated with counterfeit goods among buyers, the FAS asked marketplaces, among other things, to strengthen the fight against fakes.
