Large Russian banks will start purchasing domestic ATMs, RBC has learned.

As a representative of Sberbank explained to the agency, only foreign ATM manufacturers are currently represented on the Russian market. The largest of them - the American companies Diebold Nixdorf and NCR - suspended deliveries.

According to the government decree, in 2021 the share of Russian products in the procurement of such devices should be at least 18% for banks with state participation, from 2022 it has increased to 20%.

Now the Russian company BFS has decided to launch its ATM production. We are talking about self-service devices with an Elbrus processor.

VTB is already planning to refocus on Russian-made ATMs. The Savings Bank noted that they are ready to consider switching to them if they meet technical requirements, safety requirements, design and ergonomics. Rossbank and Russian Standard are also exploring this possibility.
