The Sarapul Electric Generator Plant has established the production of electric motors for Russian low-floor trams, said the head of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov.

"The Sarapul Electric Generator Plant has launched the production of electric motors for Russian low-floor trams for its 80th anniversary. Now the Skoda and Siemens engines in the Vityaz and Lion Cub trams will replace our Sarapul ones," he said.

Brechalov also noted that the plant already occupies 60% of the Russian market of electric trucks and plans to produce a new electric car for industry, an electric tractor and an electric dump truck.

Now the company employs 4 thousand people.
