Hyundai has decided to freeze the project to create a second automobile plant in St. Petersburg, Delovoy Peterburg reports.

Earlier, in 2020, Hyundai acquired a General Motors concern company in Shushary. Since 2023, Hyundai Tucson, Hyundai Palisade and Kia Sportage crossovers with a total investment of more than 52 billion rubles were planned to be produced at the site.

The reconstruction of the enterprise was supposed to begin in 2022, but Hyundai abandoned these plans.
