In Astrakhan, the construction of at least two container ships at the Lotos shipyard is planned to be financed from the budget, said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

"It is planned to finance the construction of at least two container ships at Lotos. Funds for the conclusion of contracts can be sent already in the IV quarter of this year," he said.

The minister also supported the initiative to make the region a center for the construction of a dredging fleet, since Astrakhan already has experience in the construction of dredgers for Rosmorrechflot and Kazakhstan.
