Spare parts from the supported equipment began to be used in service centers in the Russian Federation

Service centers in Russia, due to a shortage of spare parts, began to disassemble new and supported smartphones, tablets and laptops for device repair, writes "Kommersant". This information was confirmed by the CEO of Acer in Russia Dmitry Kravchenko.

According to him, the duration of repairs has also increased. "Those spare parts that cannot be obtained from abroad, we try to compensate by disassembling other products, the so-called donors," he said.

Now it is planned to bring equipment intended for Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia or Montenegro to Russia. At the same time, manufacturers demand that warranty repairs be carried out in these countries, too, the newspaper writes. It also negatively affects the repair period, increasing its duration at least twice.

"Kazakhstan, for example, has not previously supplied such a volume of components for repairs that is required now, and most of them went through Russia," the newspaper writes with reference to a source.

As the retailers said, service is now paid for by distributors, not manufacturers. For example, there will be no warranty from the manufacturer for the Acer imported by parallel import, the same Apple devices cannot be repaired at authorized centers.
