Kirov plant began to produce unique compressors for the gas industry

Kirov plant "Mayak" has launched import-substituting production of compressor equipment for gas compression, the press service of the government of the Kirov region reported.

"This is the result of many years of work by specialists of the Mayak plant and partners from South Korea. The South Korean partners successfully cooperate with the Kirov enterprise, transferred the development to it, at the Mayak plant this technology was adapted to Russian needs and received a unique technology for manufacturing compressor equipment," said Alexander Sokolov, acting Governor of the Kirov region.

Now production has already been localized by 70%, and by 2024 localization will reach 100%. The launch of a new production facility will allow Russia to gain technological sovereignty in another industry, Sokolov noted.

The regional government plans to provide financial support to the enterprise by providing a preferential loan of 30 million rubles through the regional Industrial Development Fund.

The new equipment is necessary for the development of the gas industry, for example, gas filling stations, said the general director of the company Viktor Zhilkin. According to him, the equipment differs from analogues in that it is oil-free compressors, which allow to obtain a high-quality gas mixture. Also, the new installation requires less maintenance costs than analogues, and has a longer service life, Zhilkin said.
