A railway bridge in the Omsk region will connect large petrochemical enterprises with the Trans-Siberian Railway. It was opened on Wednesday after 2.5 years of construction, in which about two billion rubles were invested.

"This line connects the largest oil refinery in the country and the largest oil loading station in the country. It also increases the capacity of this direction for growth and future traffic," said the head of the West Siberian Railway Alexander Gritsai at the opening of the bridge.

The direction that connects the bridge consists of three stations, accumulates almost 80% of the total cargo turnover of the Omsk region here. The volume of investments in the project amounted to about 2 billion rubles. The work continued for 2.5 years. The contractor was JSC Mostostroy-11.

The facility is of strategic importance for the region, as it will serve the entire petrochemical cluster, said the governor of the region Alexander Burkov.

"Over the past three years, the West Siberian Railway has invested 14 billion in the territory of the Omsk region - this is investment, this is the social sphere, this is also the production sphere. And we see that the plans for the future are also big," he said.

The length of the facility was 227 meters, which is 1.5 times longer than the length of the old bridge, which previously connected the Kombinatskaya and Moskovka stations.
