The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia has approved the concept of upgraded banknotes in denominations of 1000 and 5000 rubles, said Deputy Chairman of the regulator Sergey Belov.

Now, according to him, work is underway on the sketch.

"As for the 1000 and 5000 rubles notes, I can say that the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia has approved the concept, now we are working on a sketch together with colleagues from Goznak," Belov said during the presentation of the upgraded 100 rubles banknote.
