The season of cherry picking, cherries, apricots has started in Kabardino-Balkaria, the harvesting of peaches and nectarines will begin in the near future, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported. At the end of July, gardeners will begin mass harvesting of plums and cherry plums.

"This year, the harvest of stone crops is no worse than last year, and if we talk about taste qualities, thanks to sunny and moderately rainy weather, the fruits are pleasing with sweetness, juiciness and aroma," the message says.

In general, the area of stone crops in the republic is 2.4 thousand hectares, of which slightly more than half (1.3 thousand) are in households, the second part – over 1.1 thousand hectares – is concentrated in the organized sector.

According to the results of last year, the gross harvest of stone fruits amounted to 40.5 thousand tons, exceeding the 2020 harvest by 15%.
